I am very proud to announce that I have been elected Vice Commodore of my beloved Pacific Singlehanded Sailing Association this year, which means I will be Commodore in 2020. So, as much as I wanted to be with all of my San Francisco friends for the Singlehanded Transpac in 2020, I will instead race in our own version, the Shaka Challenge. It is important to me to support our club and its efforts to make this trip more easily accessible to Southern California short-handed sailors. We held our inaugural race last year, and it was a great success! I hope that we will have more boats signing up in 2020, to make our 2nd race even better!
I still hold close to my heart the goal of getting more women (even if just one more) to join me at the starting line. I am passionate about encouraging and supporting more women to seek adventure at sea, and it would be so amazing to have a few sailing with us to Hawaii in 2020! The course for our race is from Marina Del Rey to Honolulu, HI.
Stay tuned as I will be sharing my preparations for the race, as well as all of the races leading up to our departure in July 2020!
